The Moroccan port of Essaouira

Tie-die trousers, linen shirts and women with huge sunglasses, tend to stay in the main square. In the fishy bit, where local boats are lined up in jagged rows you will find the real action. Seagulls peck the eyes out of strange silver fish. Mopeds loaded with crab baskets dart around the nets and ropes. Men with beards, mobiles and distinguished features haggle over the mornings haul.
